Types of Anodising Available:
Sulphuric Anodising - Typically used for commercial or decorative application Specifications- Def Stan 03-25, Mil-A-8625 Type II, Mil-Std-171, BS1615
Chromic Anodising - better corrosion protection, used in defence/aerospace industries Specifications- Def Stan 03-24, Mil-A08625 Type I & IB
Hard Anodising - A hard coating, which is ideal for combating wear Specifications- Def Stan 03-26, Mil-A-8625 Type III, BS5599
Hard Anodising with PTFE impregnation - A low friction coating which is suitable for anti- galling applications. The coating also has good hydrophobic and lipophobic properties.
Chromate conversion coatings:
Alocrom 1000 & 1200 – short term corrosion protection Specifications- Mil-C-5541
Passivation - Removes metallic contamination from the surface of Stainless Steel Specifications- QQ-P-35, SAE AMS 2700
